Case studies

Now that you are familiar with social practice theories and conducting social practice research, we present four case studies which apply these ideas to different aspects of household water demand. Each refers to real projects and data sets, with a reflection on how you could take these ideas forward in your work. The aim of these case studies is to give you tangible examples of how to apply these ideas in how you understand and manage household water demand.

Please work your way through each case study and reflect on your work and institution. Here is a reminder of the questions we encourage you to think about while completing this training.

How does this approach differ from approaches you are currently using or have used in the past? Does it enable you to think differently about some of your past projects, ideas, and institutional agendas?

How do these approaches change the way you would analyse, or act upon, emerging and future challenges to water demand within your own work or institutional context?
